Sometimes, It's Not that You're Paranoid...

...it's that your job is being reduced to 20 hours a week.

I am so sorry to hear about this. It may not seem so right now, but I promise you that a silver lining exists somewhere in this cloud.

Eep. I don't know when this was posted, but I'm sorry to hear it :( If there's anything I can do...

So, what's the plan, Flash? New job? Second job? Blackmailing the boss so he doubles your wage while keeping the 20 hour week?

Can we expect more frequent blog posting? Appearances at the local watering holes?

Really sorry to hear this. But with that extra time comes the opportunity to look for something better.

Hi all - thanks. Basically, times are tight and my hours got cut. But I do still have benefits (health insurance and the like). So I'll be looking for a second part-time job, preferably in the afternoons. So if anyone needs a part-time receptionist/admin/office manager, I'm awesome and fun to work with.

If anyone will be fine in a situation like that, it's you.

I still think they're morons though.

A couple of weeks ago I would have put your name in for a job opening up here. Alas, Yummy got her name in there first and I can't put you up against my girlfriend.
Still not sure how to feel about getting my girlfriend made into my boss.

"Still not sure how to feel about getting my girlfriend made into my boss."

Been there. After several years of fighting it ended in divorce. Not recommended.

Jamie - That's fine. We're gonna break up eventually anyway.

Ibid/Jamie - I worked with my ex, in the same department, under the same manager. Better yet, when I decided to leave, HIS STAFF was in charge of making all the logistical arrangements. "Yeah, the boss' wife is totally leaving him...here, lemme ship her stuff somewhere random!"

I'm so sorry! Crap.

Need I remind you how last year I was laid off from my depressing dead-end job and now I'm totally all important and stuff at my new one? It's simply the universe shaking you at of your comfort zone so you'll re-group and find something better. I promise.
